Alfred Wainwright turned his love of the Lake District fells into a seven year passion project, creating what would be his lasting legacy, the much loved guide book series, A Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells.

Each book covered a specific area of Lakeland and documented Wainwright's favourite fells in incredible detail. The books were handwritten and not satisfied with being a great wordsmith, Waiwright brought the books to life with drawings of the fells in his unmistakable style.
